FACEBOOK VS GOOGLE

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you know what Facebook and Google are. Let’s be honest you probably have a Facebook account; I mean who does? Facebook has more active users than the population of China! Anyone and everyone who has done a Google search or killed some time on Facebook without a shadow of a doubt have run into an ad. Which bring us to the question “Which is better Facebook Ads or Google Ads?”. You could just stop reading right now, click here and we can talk about it.

Ok, so you didn’t click, let’s keep reading. Usually, the answer is always “It depends”. No doubt Google and Facebook are the places to be both have billions of users; but which one is best for my business? Chill, that’s what we are here to find out. Smartphones have fundamentally changed we consume these services. Today “Googling it” has become part of our vernacular and daily routines. The average person spends about 2 hours and 22 minutes on social media every day. With that said now, we know that we are on the right platforms and this is exactly where our customers are.

Online advertising as a whole, impacts these consumer-related areas at the very least:

  • Builds brand awareness
  • Helps increase the spread of information
  • Affects buyer behavior
  • Provides reminders to curious buyers
  • Uses repetition to improve sales
  • Provides multiple purchase pathways

There you have it, Google and Facebook ads are very capable of helping your business grow. According to Google, advertisers make $2 for every $1 spent in their ads network. Wow! Double your money. Facebook, on the other hand, isn’t exactly the place to go if you are looking for a contractor. Facebook does have more than TWO BILLION MONTHLY ACTIVE USERS. You can find almost any target or niche market.

So. What’s the verdict? Google Ads or Facebook Ads? Google Ads and Facebook Ads are both exceptional places to advertise your business. Both are very affordable with virtually no minimum.
If you want leads, consultations or interaction. – both platforms are excellent.
If you want to create brand awareness.  – Facebook is where you want to be.
If you have a very small budget – Facebook wins. $1.00 can go a pretty long way on Facebook.
Massive reach – Google is the way to go!

You can also look at it like buyer intent. Let say your water heater breaks. If this happens you’d most likely jump on your phone or computer and do a quick search for water heater repair. If you ever saw a Facebook Ad for water heater repair you probably won’t remember at this moment.

When it comes to audience targeting Facebook is a hand down winner because it has a more detailed profile of the users. It has a better understanding of users behaviors.

Facebook also works best when it comes to unique, out of the box innovate products because it allows you to create much nicer visual ads.

Before I close up shop I’d like to talk to you about how one of our clients has maximized benefit from social media over search engine ads. Maybe this will help you have a clear idea of which will generate more leads for you.

First I’d like to talk about “Las Palmeras” a bar that is located on in the main shopping mall of Managua, Nicaragua; to be more specific it is on the second floor of Hard Rock Cafe Managua.  Las Palmeras sign us up to be there social media management agency. Right away we knew social media was the way to go because we knew they had a very loyal customer base. We weren’t so focused on getting Las Palmeras new client’s as much as we were on getting their current clients info on specials, DJ’s and themed events. Two daily posts about what was going on in the bar during the week and some creative eye candy on their InstaStories feed and bam! Sales went through the roof. When their clients saw attractive specials they’d like, comment or share on their own feeds which ended up raising the number of followers on Las Palmeras Fan page from 1000 to 8000 8 months. See when people love your business they don’t search for other options they are your regulars. To keep them happy you have to constantly be offering them “good stuff”. Cheers, Las Palmeras!

My advice is to create a multi-platform strategy so that you can benefit from each one. Let us help you!
